Summary: I purchased a thermarest LE camprest this spring because it was on a very good sale from Erewhon which was going out of business. Ordinarily, I would opt for the traditional camprest. The LE version is slightly bit more
comfortable than the traditional camprest, but not to the tune of $130 which is its going price. I noticed that the LE takes a little longer to inflate that the traditional and the slight difference in weight in negligible. Also, the traditional has
more insulative value. The bottom line is that the LE camprest is very comfortable and I would suggest getting one if you can get it on sale. Otherwise, I would opt for the traditional models at the lower price.

Summary: I use it like a bed on the van floor, the ground, a cot, or a livingroom floor. Foam makes me sick because of the fumes, but because the foam is inside of the air mattress I'm fine. I love the thing, and it hasn't even gone flat after two years of constant use.
Customer Service: Haven''t needed it.

Summary: I probably spend 40-70 nights/season in the woods in very broad conditions. (i.e. - all seasons in extremely variable New England weather). Most of my trips are 2dys on up to 2weeks - so weight is a VERY big issue for me as I tend to travel on challenging terrain and put in longish days (10-15miles+) and am typically carrying 50+lb loads. I had and tolerated a Therma-Rest Explorer for several years before seeing this luxury item displayed. Let me just say - I'm more than happy to carry the extra 2-3 lbs to be able to lay my tired and sore self upon this! Any friends who've seen and sat on this have been immediately jealous and the chair that Therma-Rest makes adds only around another pound and you have the added advantage of a LazyBoy to sit on around the stove/campfire. If comfort while sleeping is important, or if you're often on rocky/root-filled tent sites this pad will get (and keep!) you snoozing long before and after all your campmates have given up on any more shut eye.....someone before me mentioned Sealy....it's a close call!
Customer Service: Haven't needed it - did have an old Therma-Rest get hit with some embers but the patch kit did a great job and continues to hold the air 3yrs later.

Summary: This pad is fantastic. Firm enough that you don't feel the ground. It compresses down very tight & doesn't take up much room in your pack. Worth the money. Even fits into the chair sleeve they sell for $30.00.

Summary: Nice plush pad. I don't do backpacking with kids we're limited to car camping so the weight is not an issue.
I have both the Camprest and the Camprest LE. I bought the LE b/c I wanted to know if the extra $50-$70 was worth it. It's not. Save your money and just get the CampRest (not the LE). Yes, it's covered with a softer material, has 1/4 inch more foam, and weighs less (3.7lbs to 4.2lbs) but it takes longer to inflate and there's more of the air cusion effect. For example, if you've ever slept on an air mattress, when you shift your weight on one side, the other side moves up or down. The Camprest LE has a very slight tendency to do this.
Customer Service: I spoke to Cascade Designs about the differnece between the thermal foam in the Camprest and the cored foam in the Camprest LE and he said they have the same durability.
Similar Products Used: It works well. It's just not worth the extra $$$$ over the regular CampRest, especially if you're car camping. If you're backpacking, the extra weight might matter to you.
