Summary: This was the first pad I bought, and I used it everyday for a two month trek through Montana. It was amazingly comfortable and I had no problems with its narrow width or slipping off of it. I haven't tried the regular Therma-rests, but this one was definitly top notch.

Summary: I have been backpacking since I was 18. I started by using no sleeping pad and sleeping on the ground. Throughout the years I went to the 1/2" closed cell foam pad, to a Thremarest standard, to a Guidlite. They are all very nice and I still have them all. I am now 56 years young and have graduated to the 2" thick LE. Very nice and comfortable. I have gone the way of the lightweight backpacker, but I figure that the 2" sleeping pad is worth the weight, at least for me it is.
