Summary: OW!! although this mat kept me warm at night (did not feel the icy ground at all), it was almost painful to sleep on. it really took me a while to get used to it. i felt every "ridge" there was. it might've been more pleasant sleeping on the ground. if you can afford it, go for the inflatable therm-a-rests. those are much nicer.
