at Montreal Summary: Wonderful little stove. Perfect size for hiking and powerful enough for big meal cooking. The burner`s a little on the small size for frying stuff but surprisingly very wind resistant. Customer Service: Never called Similar Products Used: Primus ClassicTrail

at generic camping stor Summary: cheap, almost silent, light and easy to use. no problems at all with quality. can be poor in very windy or swirly conditions as there is no real wind shield. which is another way of saying get behind cover. a universal adaptor that can be screwed in for non-threaded canisters would be a really nice feature. at MEC Summary: I'm very pleased with this stove. It worked like this: Turn on, light up. Very simple. Very light. Very reliable. I've used this stove at below freezing temps in Yoho in October in a snowstorm. Lit right up, and cooked my food splendidly. The flame goes wide enough to cook over an average sized pot without too much of the hot-spot problem. The flame is adjustable enough to cook rice or simmer, but when simmering be carfeul to stir constantly. Con: After repeated use the little clip (poor excuse for a wind shield) suffered from differential expansion and was too big to stay clipped on. With some pliers I made it fit and stay clipped on. You can't even tell. That is a pretty minor problem. I'm not sure how much good this little clip does in windy conditions, but I'd rather have it on than not. In any case some innovation is needed to keep it protected from the wind.
The fuel canisters can be recycled. I know that MEC in Calgary has an apparatus to safely crush them and they send them out to be recycled. If they have such a program, I'm sure other stores dp as well.
Great stove. Great price. Light weight. Easy to use. Would recommend to anyone. Just remember, if you're planning to use in winter, don't. White gas stoves are needed for that because the isobutane/propane cannisters cannot stay pressurized in cold. Customer Service: Never tried Similar Products Used: MSR Whisperlight

at ozark adventures Summary: I was very skeptical about this little stove after recieving it as a x-mas gift. I thought "neat little cheap gift". I recently tried it out at work, thinking if it doesn't work there no big deal I'll drive to subway. I work on billboards so its trial would be quite similar to rock climbing conditions. It screwed on nicely I thought, turned the valve heard the gas discharging and grabbed a match. I realized right then it was pretty windy (15mph), so I used my body to block the wind and quickly lit the match near the unit. It lit. Impressed I put my homemade chili in a stainless bowl atop it and was suprised to see it bubble within 30 seconds or so. I kept stirring for about 2 minutes and the chili was hot enough I had to blow it cool before putting it in my mouth! I like it very well so far. It never blew out (with a little common sense) and cooked fast totally exposed on a 38 degree day with descent amount of breeze. Customer Service: not used Similar Products Used: coleman camp stove. liquid gas, it stinks its big and has no place in a backpack

at EMS Summary: I bought this because I couldn't afford a liquid fuel stove, and it was the lightest and cheapest available. I was very suprised at how well it worked. In below freezing conditions without doing anything to heat up the canister it performed well and boiled water. Fuel didn't run out at the end of the 3 day trip, I may use it for the next trip I take. It was hot and loud. I will say if you buy this, a windscreen is a must but you can also just shield it with your hand. Customer Service: NA Similar Products Used: Whisperlite
