, from Boise, ID, USA Summary: I have taken this pack on the climbing portion of the Grand Teton and found it to be exactly the right size. Rope, water, ice axe and gear fit great. Get the padded attachment for the belt if you are going to be packing very much weight.
Customer Service: The customer service personnel that you reach on the phone are great. The repair service is not so good. I sent a pack in that I had for about a month. The stitching on the pocket was pulling out and I already warn a whole in the outside pocket. I sent it in for repair and was returned a fowl smelling and sloppy patch over the pocket that had just missed covering the hole that I asked to be repaired as well. After a long talk with a patient customer service representative, UPS stopped by and picked up the pack. The pack was returned with a bigger patch sewn over the pocket. I have had a bad taste in my mouth ever since. I have about six old style Mountainsmiths for sale if you are interested.

, from Destin, FL, USA Summary: This is a capacious day tripper which I often use for overnight trips as well as a technical pack for climbing. Extremely comfortable and customizable, it will accept almost all of Mountainsmith's accessories.
