Summary:
The North Face Hotshot backpack is a great choice for anyone in the market for a simple, dependable, basic backpack. I have used mine as a main bag when I travelled in Europe, School, Day hikes, and even as a scrammble bag in the Olympics.

The Hotshot has two straps on the lower bottom of the pack that can be used for carrying extra stuff like a tarp, jacket, blanket, pad, etc.. It also has compression straps on the sides which I have used to carry i.e. Poles, flags, tarps, etc...

Performed flawlessly. After six years the bag does show age, yet not a stitch has came undone. Highly recommended...I give it five stars cuz I can't live without it. It goes with me everywhere.
