Summary:
Uhhhhh.....
The Betamid rocks. I took it up Shasta in the winter on Casaval Ridge, and we had ourselves a little storm. Sounded like a locomotive train outside the door, but the thing held up. We had to go outside every hour and shovel snow off the corners where it built up, and windspeed was around 55mph. I have taken it camping as well, and it's very light but not breathable so condensation builds up in a hotter climate. I was thinking about building a roof vent for it. I give it 5 stars for lightweight, durability, and simplicity, but it's certainly not for everyone.

Price Paid:  $0.00 at Marmot Mountain Spor

Summary:
Wow, I can't believe that I'm the first to review this product for as hard as it was to come by one! Even REI's flagship store in Seattle was out for what seemed like forever!
So far I haven't had the nastly weather to test it in, just an 8 mile climb up to Flapjack Lakes in Washington's Olympic Mountains in early June. It snowed a little but nothing really worth mentioning. What I can say is that this thing is wonderfully light with plenty of room for my 6'2" frame and a trail buddy, or me and my dog and pack. The trekking poles that double as tent poles make a handy division of living space, especially at night if your tent-mate isn't your real-life mate.

For anyone looking for a LIGHT shelter that is worth their time and money, I wholeheartedly recommend the Betamid!

Haven't needed them yet, but their product was really hard to find in stock.
