I bought this tent on sale and absolutely love it. Partly because Whole Earth Provision is my favorite store, even over REI.
Great attention to detail. Exposed seams are fully taped, but they include a tube of SeamGrip for corners. The tent is free standing, fly clips to the tent body if you don't want to guy it out.
Dana Design tents are a bit harder to find but worth looking for. Customer Service:
Phone service is very helpful. No drop in the quality of customer service since k2 bought Dana Design a couple of years ago. Similar Products Used:

I got this tent last year, and used it for a few trips. The last was a week in the sierras in September.We encountered rain,wind and light snow with no problems.Lots of features and good venting. The only complaint was the seams were not factory sealed (Rei online said they were,thats another story). It was not that big of a deal. This years model Mojo Dana Designs has sealed the seams. Other than that it's a great tent. Customer Service:

Owning 2 Dana packs and loving them I recently looked at buying the Dana Mojo and the biggest draw-back I found was the seams on the rain-fly. The seams are not factory sealed and while Dana provides 5 tubes of sealer I found that the construction of the seams ,2 L's sewn together on the short leg with seam tape do not provide an expansion proof seam like the lap-felled seams(2 J shapes interlocked and sewn) used by most other tent manufacturers. While I liked the roominess,double doors, and other features of this tent,the construction of the rainfly and having to seal it yourself instead of factory sealing means I will continue looking at other manufacturers. Get with it Dana and produce a tent to the standards of your packs. Similar Products Used:

This is an interesting tent; it may take a little getting used to, but once you get to know it, it seems to do quite a lot of things pretty well. I bought it for a backpacking/climbing trip to Bolivia and Peru, so I wanted something light enough to take on extended hikes at altitude, roomy enough to hide all one's gear in, so it didn't vanish at night!, and strong enough to venture a little higher up some mountains. It is a good compromise I think. Its very liveable for two people and seems plenty sturdy. The slightly odd features are the fly, which is not-quite ground coverage and requires a bit of care to get completely taught and doesn't quite keep out the breeze, but when ski touring its easy enough to build up some snow walls. Also I found the poles extremely tight, had a hell of a time getting them in on cold evenings wearing gloves! Overall a very nice tent for most uses short of hard core moutaineering, the fly is not quite low enough for really windy situations. Similar Products Used:

Definitely the highest quality tent I've ever used. It seems to work well in every aspect. You're going to sacrifice something to get the best all-around performing tent. You can find cheaper tents, or roomier ones, or lighter ones. But, you won't get one as good as the Dana. Decide what you need the most. If it is an investment, then look no further. Easy up, easy down and very packable. Generous venting keeps you cool and the vestibules are sufficient for most gear. Finally, it's very stable. Our first night was stormy.
