Summary:
My girl friend and I bought this tent around Christmas last year. We were on the hunt for a good, well made, winter tent. Out of researching many companies we stumbled apon this model. We bought it without even seeing it set up. It was such a great deal we couldn't resist.
This past winter we hiked and camped around 8 times. All of them in the snow or rain. No sunshine for these kids.

One time we hiked part way up MT. Hood at night. The conditions were so bad we had to stop to set camp. The wind was blowing, it was cold and miserable. Once we pitched the tent, life was good. Its structure was strong enough to handle highwinds. We are dreading the day this tent dies. Hopefully no time soon. It breaths well in the summer and handles heavy snowfall in the winter.

Customer Service:
Eastern Mt. Sports treated us well and gave us all the information we needed.

Summary:
I have had my Simmom for about 2 years and find it to be a great tent. I sold a Moss tent for this one for two reasons; ventilation and weight. The Simoom has a optional vestibule that can be left at home thus reducing the weight. Further, the Simoom was designed by a Moss engineer now working for EMS so it is almost like having a Moss tent with an EMS tag! I like the roominess of this tent and while it can fit two, it is nice for one if stuck in it for any length of time!
At one of EMS 20% off sales it cost $220 about half the price of a Moss. Of course it is a three season tent and not a four and not necesarilly bomb proof like a Moss. A good alternative however. Weigth can vary by two pounds depending on whether the vestibule and one of the poles is left at home - both are viable options.

Customer Service:
Have had no problems with this tent so no need to contact customer service!

Summary:
I have used the Simoom on a number of occasions but still consider it new. The structure is very durable, and so airy you feel like you're sleeping under the stars! (Oh wait, you are!) The vestibule provides two sections for your gear so you don't have to carry all that dirt inside. The only downfall is that I havn't gotten used to climbing in with the vestibule on.

Customer Service:
I have shopped at EMS for over 8 years. I would never shop anywhere else. They have a 100% satisfaction guarentee. That's important in this line of fun!

Summary:
While not the ultimate, EMS products are generally a good value. This tent is a little weighty, but easy on the bank account. I've found it easy to pitch and well made.

Customer Service:
EMS sales people are knowledgeable and helpful, without being pushy. They seem to have real world experience.
