Reviewed by: Bill ,  Paddler , from Minnepolis

Price Paid:  $140.00 at Galyann's

Summary:
I was surprised no other Minnesota paddlers had reviewed this tent. It is the primary tent used in the Boundary Waters by outfitters. We just purchased our second one. The first one held up very well with about 200 days in the Boundary Waters (known for small tent pads, and unmoveable rocks and roots). My major complaint is the older zippers - on our first one they kept getting stuck in the rain flap which covered the zipper (tearing it more than once) and now they have failed (the zippers will no longer hold) The reason we bought our latest one is because Eureke has improved them (much more durable now, and much larger). We also seemed to have problems with water but that was more our fault - we now use a tarp on the inside of tent.

Price Paid:  $160.00 at campmor

Summary:
its cozy cool fun and warm own only the 2 door i;m sure the single door model would not be as fun. its good for that old fashion traditional feeling of the standard a-frame.

Summary:
The most important thing about this tent is its durability. In my experience, as well as friends cross-country we all agree that this tent will last forever. The only problem I have ever had with mice is that the seams need to be sealed ofted. (But that is part of owning a tent)

I wouldn't take this tent on an extended backpacking trip, but it will work for just about anything else.

Price Paid:  $129.00

Summary:
After owning a Timberline 2 for 20 years I upgraded to the 4. Great for car camping and a breeze to set up. I did have it blow down on me onetime in an amazing windstorm but keep me dry another time when it rained all night and most of the next day. Nothing special about this tent, it's old reliable just like the 2.

Reviewed by: Todd H ,  Car Camper , from Pomfret Center, CT

Summary:
Bought my timberline 4 in 1980 and have been using it for 20 years. Back in 1975-78 in boy scouts our troop used timberline 2 tents. Tent is easy to set-up and break down even in wind. Zippers have gotten stuck, but never wasn't able to reverse and free it. Has always been very dry and good in the wind. The only problems I have ever had were the flap over the zipper (loop of fabric) filled with water like a tube in a severe storm before I seam sealed the stiches and in WI during a major thunderstorm a couple of years ago I had a pole bend (worst wind gust I had ever seen), but was able to straighten it by hand get back to bed and it has been fine since. The only reason I am reading reviews is as the family has grown we no longer fit. Great tent for the money. Used to backpack with it and would split the components between 2-3 of us. A little heavy for one or even two persons.

Was given a 6 person White Stag family dome tent 2 months ago and it gets wet in driving rain and have had its fiberglass poles invert on top of me twice (in 5 camping trips). Am buying Eureka Equinox 6 this week!
