Price Paid:  $400.00 at Alpenstock, UK

Summary:
Good design making it very usable. Materials are obviously high quality, looking and feeling good to handle.
Disappointed by standard of workmanship - thread running out in mid seam on inner tent door and restarted by back stitching = ugly. Vent zips close at different heights leaving gaps. Seam on flysheet too short so tent doesn't set well. These could be seen as minor issues but the tent is the most expensive on market and claims to be the best made. I notice that tents are no longer made in Sweden by Swedes who I always thought hade a quality culture, but in Slovenia.

Customer Service:
Alpenstock were brilliant and got the inner tent changed. First class service. I heard nothing from Hilleberg in response to my email.

Price Paid:  $800.00 at sportsnett.no

Summary:
My Nammatj 3GT has been a trusted companion on trips all over Norway in 2003. It is a perfect all seasons tent for 2 people. In the grand vestibule you easily store two big backpacks, wet shoes and clothes, and still have room for your kitchen so you can cook that trout for dinner.

the tent is expensive but it looks really nice and photogenic in red!

Price Paid:  $595.00 at www.hilleberg.com

Summary:
I love this tent! It is the most valued piece of equipment I have ever owned. It is quick and easy to pitch even in the worse weather. It is roomy inside and the vestibule is huge. We got snowed in last weekend and it was nice to just sit inside and relax knowing that we had nothing to worry about.

Customer Service:
The customer service at Hilleberg was great. They shipped the tent the same day and I had it after 2 days! They were also willing to answer all my questions.

Reviewed by: Peter Mulder ,  Backpacker , from Nijmegen, Netherlands

Price Paid:  $600.00

Summary:
Excellent bad weather tent. Due to large vestibule you still feel comfortable during bad weather. Very easy to put up even when you are alone and wether is faul.
In good wether it took me just 3 minutes to put up the tent (alone).
just a matter doing things in the right sequence.

Tent materials still keep flexible at minus 25 degrees. (now I also understand why the tent is sold in such a big stuffing bag) Tent is less suited for hot areas due to poor ventilation (you can't have it all).

So

pro:
High quality materials
easy to put up in any circumstance
lot's of space
great feedback from manufacturer
(see also www.hilleberg.com)
4 season tent
relative light compared to the space it offers. (3.4 kg)

con
expensive
sometimes difficult to find a good camping spot due to it's size
little bit noisy when it is windy.

Price Paid:  $600.00 at Otter (Netherlands)

Summary:
This is an extremely light high quality foul weather tent. It is easy to pitch if you have somebody to help, if you have to pitch it alone it is fairly easy but only in good weather (no wind)
Vestibule is generous with more than enough space to store gear.
Definitely not a warm weather tent because of limited ventilation posibilities. Sleeping area is tight for two persons, but hey you wanted a light tent!
We have used it extensively for three years and it has not failed us once.
Nothing is fidgety or "cheap" just be carefull with inserting and removing the poles, aluminum can be sharp.
You get what you pay for
