Price Paid:  $90.00 at LL Bean

Summary:
I have the 2 person dome, and I love it. I use it for campground camping and walk-in site camping. You can buy cheaper tents at Target and Wal-Mart, but you get a lot for your money out of this tent. These are the points I think are important about this tent:

* It sets up fast and easily
* The ventillation is just ok. (Note, I'm claustrophobic. My spouse thinks the ventillation is good)
* It does need a little extra sealing if you're camping in heavy, extended rain. The fly and floor are fine, but other seams which are exposed to the elements are not factory sealed.
* Its durable
* It holds two people cozily, with about 6 inches to spare between each person and the outside wall.
* It comes with enough guy line, guy line sliders and stakes to fully stake down and guy out the tent.
* The clear panel in the fly allows plenty of light into the tent. The no-seeum mesh under it doesn't allow for good star-gazing. On the other hand, the dense mesh provides some privacy from eyes of passers by.

Customer Service:
Bean's service is fantastic. I've never had to take this tent in. In fact, of the many items I've bought there, I've only had two not wear well. They replaced one and repaired the other, free of charge and with no 'tude.

Price Paid:  $199.00 at LLBean

Summary:
Fabulous tent! I purchased the LLBean Dome 6 to have enough room for two to be comfortably installed in the woods, and I was not disappointed. Our new tent endured 7 hours of solid rain without a leak. I neglected to seal the patches where the velcro attachemnts had been sewn to the rain flym, and these did let some water through. Still, the interior of the tent remained completely dry, and surprisingly free from condensation. The tent was easy to set up, appeared to be very sturdy when guyed out properly, and overall was very comfortable. The vestibule on the 6-man version is just about as big as some of my 2-man backpacking tents. All in all - a great value.

Summary:
Watertight, durable and easy to set up. Mine is 10 years old and still
going strong. It isn't suitable for extreme conditions or very high
winds, but otherwise is a solid, well made tent and at $139 (current price)
a great value. Weight is a tad more than you want in a backpacking
tent, but still manageable

Customer Service:
Bean is famous for its customer service. I had a pair of jeans that, after 2 years, developed a hole where the rear pocket was attached. I kept meaning to send them back. 5 years later they were still in my closet. I finally sent them back and received a brand new pair 2 weeks later. As my waist size
increased several inches since the original jeans were purchased 7 years earlier, I needed a larger size. Called Bean and the larger jeans arrived
along with a postage paid mailer to send the other pair back.

Summary:
I have had this tent for 2 years and it is still holding up to year round use. This tent has been used in several Boy Scout camping trips, and taken the abuse of a group of 10-17 year old boys with no problem. This is a great tent for a beginner or a backpacker such as my self. Easy to set up and very eficient.

Customer Service:
If there is ever a problem with a L.L. Bean product and you are not satisfied at any time they will take it back and fix or replace it. I had to send it back due to a faulty zipper but this matter was taken care of and shipping was paid for by L.L. Bean
