Summary:
Spacious tent, easy to set up, designed by backpackers for backpackers.Rugged, Withstood a torrential donwpours without any problems. There are certainly less expensive and lighter 3 person tents on the market but I consider this one worth the extra pound or two.

Price Paid:  $249.00 at livetoplay

Summary:
Have used my Hoot many times and have nothing but positive things to say. On my last trip, my hoot withstood 1 1/2 inches of rain over 2 days with 30mph winds. I did not have the tent set up in a low spot, but the puddle next to me grew so large that the tent wound up in over an inch of water. Inside was high and dry though!!! And when we got inside the tent, the roof vents helped tremendously. All of our gear was dry by morning even though it was only in the upper 30's at night. Vestibule is generous in size and the many gear pockets and handy stuff sack/tent organizer are an added bonus. Only downside is the weight. If you are planning on splitting the weight up between hiking companions, it shouldnt' be a concern.

Price Paid:  $365.00 at OutbackGear.com

Summary:
This tent is awesome. I bought it to replace the smaller 2 person Marmot Swallow because I needed more room. This tent provides it and more. Roomy with great features. Excellent ventilation options and easy to set up.

Customer Service:
None necessary yet, but Marmot is slow about providing info and its website is full of outdated and inaccurate info.

Price Paid:  $299.00 at EMS online

Summary:
I bought this tent after my son was born. We needed more room than our 2 person tent. I did alot of research on 3 person tents, and decided on the Hoot. It is a little heavier than some of the other 3 person's, but when you really compare features I think it is the strongest tent for the money. Many other 3 person tents are not built as strong, or are not 3+ season convertible tents. The Hoot allows you to close all mesh up with solid panels when it is cold. Everything is sewn beautifully. The two doors are nice. There are vents in the fly for cold weather venting to prevent condensation. The room inside and vestibules are very large. Overall, a great tent. Plus I got it 25% off. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I have only used it a few times so far (not enough data).

Summary:
Great tent! I can set up the tent in 4 minutes (not counting fly and stakes). And, it can be torn down even faster. The windows on four sides are unusual for this size and type of tent. The North Face Stratos has more window area but only on two sides and above. Good ventilation. The D-doors are another big plus. Thoughtfully designed. Quick clips for rain fly are nice as is the roll-up awning.
