at High Mountain Rendez Summary: Just wanted to write a long-term follow up about this tent. I've had a Summer Moon for about 5 years and it's still going strong. It's seen quite a bit of 3 season use, as well as a fair amount of "fort time" for the kids and has held up remarkably well. It's still among the lightest 2-person tents out there, so I haven't considered replacing it. I think I'll just keep using it until it disintegrates. At $150 this was a no-brainer at the time. It still is. Great tent. Customer Service: Never needed.

, from Idaho Summary: This tent has only a limited application-- summertime with no wind. On almost every SD tent you will notice the vestiable rain fly leaves 6 to 8 inches of clearence from the ground for sand, snow, deer or anything else that whats at your stowed away stuff. This is a real problem if it is windy out. On a late summer climbing trip to Vantage WA, I returned to this tent to find the inside covered with a 1/4 inch of dust. Then the wind started to really blow. Any one who says this tent is as solid as a rock hasn't seen real wind. I turned to my car for safty because I thought this tent would collapse.
If you are looking for a small, light weight tent and not worried about sand, rain or wind this might be the tent for you. Customer Service: None Similar Products Used: TNF tents

, from Lawrence, KS USA Summary: The only place I have ever seen this tent is at Northern Mountain Supply (www.killerdeals.com) in California. It is only $150, an exceptional deal. Another quality is the weight, which is right at about five pounds, if not a little less. Compared to my previous tent, a Moss, this thing is less than half the weight and takes up much less volume in my pack. I think interior room is about 32 sq. ft., which makes for plenty of room for one but a tight fit for two, especially since the vestibule is not that big. This tent is very quick and simple to set up right from the beginning. A mesh door and a large mesh panel on the opposing wall provide good ventilation. My only negative experience is trying to seam seal the mofo, which proved to be a tedious affair, and my mood was not helped any when the fly stuck to itself, even though I tried to use baby powder to prevent this. It came out okay though. Customer Service: never needed it

, from Bakersfield, Ca. Summary: The Summer Moon is a 2 person, 3 season tent by Sierra Designs. This tent is probably the only tent needed by 90% of backpackers. Total weight of tent including stakes, stuff sacks, poles , fly, and tent body is only 5lb. 3 oz. complete. It is also reasonably roomy especially considering the light weight. The ventilation is also very good. This tent was a promotional tent that can still be found at places like Northern Mountain Supply. As with all S.D. tents the overall quality is high. The main door is only netting, but it is covered by desent sized vestiblue fly. There is a large rear netted window that covers the entire upper third of the wall. Well worth the money. Grab one if you can locate one. Customer Service: N/A Similar Products Used: Marmot, The North Face, Trailwise,

, from Kirksville,MO,USA Summary: This is was a promo tent somewhere between 1996-1998. I bought one for $140 from northern mountain supply. They normally were $250. Since I am a 3 1/2 season backpacker, I have to say that it is very light (4lbs. 4 oz.) and very packable! With the fly staked out it is solid as a rock! Check it out-It's a steal!
