Summary:
This tent just doesn't pitch taut, so the sides of the fly touch the sides of the tent when things get wet and heavy. Then the air circulation between the fly and tent is restricted, more moisture accumulates, and so it goes. I stay dry inside, but I'm always packing up a wet tent and fly in the morning.

Summary:
This tent is one of the best investments in my backpacking career. It is a very well made tent. I found this out last weekend atop Blood Mountain with at least 4 inchs of snow on the ground aand a 40 knot wind blowing all night and heavy pelting from ice falling from trees. It stood strong all night. Tent is pretty heavy weighing in at about 10 pounds. But every pound is worth it. The Rapeede is a very water proof tent and extremely durable. I wouldn't recomend buying this tent for summer/spring camping or backpacking because it can get very steamy in there really fast during the summer. But I recommend this tent to anyone who wants a strong, and solid four season tent who doesn't mind the weight. I love the rapid hub system the tent has which makes it a breeze to set and take down. It also has a huge vestibule where you can fit atleast two packs or what ever you want to keep dry during those freak rain snow and rain storms. I love the Rapeede XV i don't know what i'd do without it.

Summary:
I love this tent for almost all my camping. It is a little warm for summer use, although I have used it for hot August trips and haven't had much to complain about. It sets up and packs down quick and easy, and it's lighter than a lot of the competition. The vestibule gives you a number of options for entry and storage, which is nice. It's a 4 season, 2-person tent, which means it's a tight fit for 2 big people. I have used it solo for winter camping and have been just fine. Good ventilation, and seems to be well constructed. No problems with it yet, and I've had it for about a year and a half.

Price Paid:  $200.00 at globalmart

Summary:
In short this is a very well designed and generally under rated tent. Of course since Walrus is no longer around it will continue to be so. I bought mine 1 and half years ago and have been all over the north east in mine. It is not the best warm weather tent but I new that going in. I wanted a quality four season tent for a good price. I have really found what I was looking for in this tent. If staked properly, this tent will stand up to almost any wind and is very water proof. The weight is good and I do not think the burrito sack system is nearly as complicated or difficult to use as many "proffesional" reviewers claim. I can get mine wrapped up and packed in under 3 minutes. The middle pole is nice in that it keeps the middle of the tent taught. The light colors keep the inside bright and the gear loft is great fo glasses. The construction of the tent seems to be better than the Sierra Designs tents I have used in the past and the materials are wearing very well. In short I am very happy with my purchase and very glad I bought this tent over some of the more expensive heavily adviretised competition. (Maybe they are related?)

Customer Service:
Not had to use it although maybe a concern now since MSR has gotton rid of the Walrus name.
