, from Denver, CO Summary: The Grivel G9L is a nice LIGHTWEIGHT crampon suitable for glacier travel and icy trails. I bought it for its light weight (it is aluminum) and cost. This is not the tool for ice climbing or extended heavy duty use. I paired these crampons up with the La Sportiva K3 insulated leather boot and I carry the Grivel Nepal Light (also full aluminum) ice axe. It you've ever been out on the trail and wished you hadn't left you crampons in the car to conserve weight, then this is the setup for you. Customer Service: No experience.
