Mountaineer
, from LA California Summary: The Geronimo 2's are my first set of ice tools. I'm using them for gully/ice climbing and general mountaineering. I got the 55cm shafts. The long shaft adds some security when climbing steep snow and the extra reach is nice. I have the Goulottes pick. I think the Evolution pick would shatter the ice less. They are durable which is a real plus, because my technique (at this point) consists mostly of bashing and wedging. Great mountain climbing tools. Similar Products Used: None

Mountaineer
, from Bucharest, Romania Summary: I have the Geronimo 2 ice-axe and hammer for two years now. Originally, I bought it for mixed climbs, gullies, rather than frozen waterfalls. Which is why I preferred the Goulottes pick, thicker. The straight shaft also seems not to recommend it for ice-falls. However I tried it on 90 degrees blue ice-falls and it works just as good as a Charlet Moser Pulsar. It it lighter and might require additional weights but it's a beutiful multipurpose tool.
