I have a narrow foot, used to backpacking. When I took up climbing I bought these Eigers. Warm for summer climbing, with an excellent lace up system. My first pair was a bit tight in the toebox, but another size up has cured that. Still not as comfortable for approaches to base camp, with little flex, but the are nice and stiff for steep icy slopes, like Mt Baker. So I stuck with them for my second pair. Priced well, too. Great boot, My first trek was up to camp muir on Mt. Raineer. Bad move as they were a day old, and the walk down was way to painful! My friends were complaining about wet feet and cold, My feet were dry and warm! I now have close to 110 miles in them now and just went back to REI as I have a narrow foot and had to have the boots custom fit! a salesperson there custom fit some new insoles and a pair of superfeet insoles and now they are pretty comfortable! The boots still look brand new and I would suggest them to anyone wanting a rather inexspensive mountaineering boot! La Sportiva is one of the only Brands that runs really narrow so if you have wide feet you may want to think about a pair of Solomon's or Asolo's! Similar Products Used:

stiff, big boots for mountaineering. They have little flex, enough for comfortable walking, and are probably stiff enough for ice climbing. the heel fits me great, and the lacing system holds my foot in place. the toe box has plenty of volume, but I am not sure if the length is perfect, since REI carries them only up to size 47 (me). overall a great boot. Koflach degres on Mt. Baker, they don't climb rock well enough for me
