$0.00 Summary: I have been climbing for 30 years now, have owned 6 Edelweiss ropes, 1 8000+ and 5 Stratos. My 2 14-year-old Stratos has been up El Cap and Half Dome, as well as uncounted shorter routes in Yosemite, the Sierras, J Tree and the Stronghold in AZ. To date, no cuts, snags, fur-balls or other problems. My son cut his Stratos when his friend pulled off a rock the size of a loaf of bread from 90 feet up, landed on the rope. Other ropes I have owned have not fared as well. The 10.5 is a little bit heavy at 60 M, but I prefer the best. Time to buy a new 60-M Edelweiss.

at out and back Summary: This rope sucks. i took this out for one full day of climbing on the limestone.
F--- this rope sucks, after one day the sheath had already started to frey, i would discourage any climber from buying any edelweiss rope, go get yourself a BLUEWATER or a MAMMUT Similar Products Used: Blue water lighting pro

at Marmot Summary: This rope saved my life! I nocked loose a rock the size of a large ice chest which caused me to take a long fall. The rock landed on the rope half way down causing serious core dammage but the still rope held. I don't know if any other rope would have survided.

at mountain gear Summary: I've had my Edelwiess Stratos of four years now and it the sheath show only minor signs or wear. I've taken falls, ran it over edges (weighted), jumared, and god knows what else on this thing; And I would still trust it more than a squeaky clean, brand new rope from anyother manufactuer. The only negative is that it is a bit heavy...just think of it as an 11mm instead of a 10.5mm and this shouldn't bother you so much. It was well worth the extra cash I threw down; definitely not a discount parachute. Customer Service: they got me a purple one Similar Products Used: BlueWater Mammut Esprit

, from OK Summary: A bit stiff at first as everyone says, but handles abuse like nothing else. IMHO the stratos has been the best rope on the market for nearly 2 decades. I've never regretted getting one, only problem is they last so long you get scared of them. They still look brand new after many years. Great for use on adventure routes, very confidence inspirring.
