Summary:
A very enjoyable boat to paddle. Tryed a # of boats before buying the Dagger Savannah Expd.I bought the version with the rudder because being my first boat I thought that would be the way to go.I was correct.We paddled the Upper Saranac Lake this summer with a breeze 45 degrees of the bow.With the rudder it held steady, 1 ft. waves over the front and not a whimper.The rudder kept you steady as you pointed it.Love it.Iam 5'8" ,210lbs. had it stuffed and equip. hanging on the back.
No problem , great boat.

Summary:
I owned the Edisto which is discontinued, but the Savannah (or the Baja) is equal in length and design so I am betting it is the same but modern thing. I really loved the Edisto because it was great from Center Hill Lake to the Hiwassee River in TN. The rudder made it a good lake boat that tracked well in all but the choppiest water. It felt a little tipsy sometimes, but this made it a great turner. You could pivot faster with a paddle/hip move than with the rudder. On moderate whitewater you could shoot through the falls and still have time to turn around to play in the base of the rapids with the smaller kayaks. It didn't track great, and it was a little too bulky for anything over light rapids, but it was designed for multi-use which it did well. A great all around craft. I did see that this new model has an integral rudder which I am not crazy about.
