Summary:
What an outstanding bit of kit, I regulary surf 5 foot plus waves in the north of Scotland it gives you so much confiedence you can really push yourself. Unlike traditional surf skis the thigh straps allow you the control you need but without the worry of getting the waist strap undone quickly. If you do get dumped its very easy to get back on, rolling however takes some practice.

Customer Service:
On my third outing with the Five O both quick release clips on the thigh straps snapped I sent an email to Perception on the Sunday night had a reply Monday morning had the new replacements straps minus the quick release clips (Which were not needed anyaway) on the Thursday. Fantastic after sales support.

Similar Products Used:
I have used many different types of surf ski all of them custom made, however this is the best one for control and quality of build and far far cheaper.

Summary:
This boat is a blast to surf on. The fin makes all the difference, definitly use it. The low volume makes catching waves easyer and if you get dumped getting back on is simple because the boat rides so low in the water. The main advantage this boat has over some of the other surfing sit on tops is the adjustable footbrace. It is a good design that is not affected by sand like regular footpegs can be. The only thing I would like to see changed is the boat is a litte flexy, it could be a little stiffer overall. It sure is a fun boat--now I need another one for my wife!
