, from New Haven, CT Summary: I've owned a Keowee2 since 1999, my first kayak, tho I've sinced moved on to singles and now a sea-kayak. For what she's intended, she's a GREAT boat. Very comfortable cockpit that is extremely easy to get in and out of. She's an extremely stable boat with a 32" beam, so she's very reassuring for new paddlers, inexperienced guests and kids. She tracks reasonably well, tho decent paddling skills help. She's no speedster, but she does accelerate at a decent pace and its not too terrible putting on my miles in her. My son and I paddled up seven miles into a landlocked fjord in Western Newfoundland last summer in her, and had a ball! She handles wind-blown chop surprisingly well. She ain't half bad looking either. Her polyethylene hull is sorta thin and will distort if cinched down too tight on the car rack, but it always comes bacdk to shape. Otherwise, she's indestructible. She sets up for occasional solo paddles with ease, tho when paddling solo, you lose the front foot braces cause the seat is too far back. Handling her solo on a car-top is pretty easy tho. All in all, she's a delight for sunset paddles on pretty lakes or gentle rivers and,if you use her for what's she's intended, will give you MANY hours of great times!
