Price Paid:  $39.00 at patagonia.com

Summary:
My wife bought an r.5 on sale and we like the liteweight, moisture-wicking promise of the material, plus it fit her well. The men's, unfortunately, fit a little tight, but the large was too big and wouldn't have wicked as well if worn loose. It shrunk after one washing, and for some reason both mine and my wife's seem to create and hold odor more than they should. I wear a wool baselayer more often than this and it doesn't hold an odor. I'm disappointed with the everyday usefulness of the top, but haven't done any high-level activity in it yet.

Customer Service:
did a return on a jacket that went quickly.

Price Paid:  $65.00 at Galyans

Summary:
Not a very good piece. The sizing is terrible, not patterned after other patagonia layers. The body shrunk up and is now very short, while the arms and neck are still fine. THe "grid" fabric is annoying because it catches on whatever you're wearing under it and isn't very soft against the skin. The fabric (malden's powerdry) works pretty well and doesn't retain odor the way capilene does. It dries pretty fast and is between MidWeight and EW Capilene for warmth.

Summary:
Warm enough as a top layer. Fits nicely under everything else. Nice fabric, good cut. I can definitely recommend it. Use it for running, rowing, hiking, skiing, mountain biking, ... . I like it!
Got it on a deal. A "must have" for that price!
