The North Face Mens Denali Jacet

Description
The mother of all fleece jackets, this is a TNF staple. A super warm layering piece for cold weather expeditions. It's also a great looking piece for around town on chilly fall days, or cool summer ni...

Alright so I got this jacket on sale for 77 bucks! And I am in love. I can even wear this and only a t-shirt when in 10-20 degree weather. The most warm fleece/jacket I've owned.

Let's face it. The one and only reason why you'd buy this jacket is because of it's popularity. It's just a fleece jacket. Nothing more. Buy a cheaper brand and don't worry about what the frat boys are wearing.

I don't even wear mine anymore since it's basically useless.

Summary:
the Denali jacket was something i had been wanting to purchase, partially because of its popularity. when i bought it and put it on, it was soooo comfy and the fleece really does feel so good against your skin. i don't really have a lot of complaints about the jacket, although i will say that it does let in some drafts on cold days, so a sweater is needed when it goes below say 45 degrees. otherwise, a great jacket!

Summary:
Excellant jacket! I could not believe some of these reviewers complaining about its lack of windstopping ability--such a function should play no part in the review score as it is not advertised nor inherent within the jackets material (I'm using the older 300wt fleece model and not the newer windpro fleece which is only wind resistant not windproof). The fact that this jacket is not windproof means that it breathes much better therefore making it excellant to wear while traversing the trails or any other such activity outside of climbing where open exposure to the wind will zap your strength.
I usually don't care much for North Face equipment anymore--I'm fed up with their inconsistent sizing from year to year, and some of their equipment is quesionable as far as durability is concerned. But the Denali jacket is a wonderful heavy weight fleece jacket for winter excursions. Should it get windy--then don your parka. I love the styling, and the durability is exceptional.

Customer Service:
lifetime warranty--exceptional service.

Price Paid:  $120.00 at BRMS

Summary:
Definately a good jacket for day hikes and around town stuff... warm as anything when layered under a windproof shell of some sort. Nice feature is that it zips into other TNF products like their mountain light parka. Bad side: if you are a weight concious hiker or backpaker, this isn't for you. After discovering a certain other company's windstopper fleece, this thing will see more closet time than trail time, trust me. Still, for what it is, it is high quality.
