I've used this rod from China's northwest provinces, New Zealand to Virginia. This is by far the most impressive rods I've ever used. The rod loads easily and can cast a mile - it makes working a stream/river a real joy and will not let you down when the wind picks up or your fly gets chomped on by a 8-lb New Zealand steelhead. The locals laughed at my "tiny" five-weight compared to their 7 and 8 weights until the Powell landed the first Bull Trout of the day. I've used the rod for a year now and have not noticed any wear or tear except from where my thump rubbed a small piece of the cork off. The rod could do with alignment dots, but that's just being picky. The fast action of the rod takes some getting used to, but once comfortable in your casting stroke, the line shoots like a bullet. Accurate and fast, this is my primary rod on any trip.

Customer Service

Unknown; although I hear Powell has discontinued the warranty on the rod series. This would be a real shame.
