Skier Summary: A deal at any price. The most perfect rod I have ever cast. I have 8 rods and use the SPLCA 389 75% of the time. From inchers in the Flathead to a 25 inch brown on the Mo, this rod has handled it all. While I wouldn't suggest going after larger game on a regular basis (as much for the fish's sake as the rods), trout up to 20 inches are a joy on this rod. Customer Service: Sage has superb customer service if you don't mind the new service fee (I think 30 bucks or so) Similar Products Used: Legend Ultra & Elite, Sage SLT, XP, SP, SPL, T&T Vector, Orvis TL, Silver, GLX, Red NTi

, from Leavenworth Summary: A beautiful rod. I have fished with so many 3 weight rods that really left something to be desired. Not so with the Sage. This is a sweet little sucker. I use it not only for trickling little streams with fish no larger than 7 inches all the way up to the larger fast flowing waters out here in the west. While not really designed to toss out larger flys or work well in a stiff wind. I have found that by modifying a few techniques a three weight will do in most conditions. Just yesterday I landed a beautiful chinook and a georgeous steelie on this rod. Yes it did look like it was going to break the rod but man what a fight. And yes this rod even can toss some larger streamers if careful. Customer Service: Haven''t needed it yet Similar Products Used: St. Croix legend Ultra, Winston WT, Scott G-series, Cabellas PT.

, from Goodyear, AZ Summary: My favorite rod. It comes in a variety of line weights and lengths, so you should find one that will fit your specific light rod needs. It's not a wimp, either. I fished mine at Lees Ferry, and landed several of its hard-running, high-flying, long-fighting trout, a few around 16"! A trout of any size on this rod is a joy to catch. If you have the money and are looking for the best light trout rod available, you have to at least try one. Customer Service: Excellent, I hear. Haven't had to use them, but the rod does have a lifetime warranty.
Similar Products Used: Winston 3wt, Sage LL (another sweet rod, that unfortunately is no longer in production)
