40 days a year Summary: Above price is in Canadian dollars. I have a VPS 590 and use it for my trout fishing. Overall, it's an outstanding piece of equipment. Its medium/fast action suits my casting style. It loads well, and can shoot lots of line for distance casting. Yet it works well for short delicate casts as well. It's light enough to nicely handle small fish, yet strong enough to put the brakes on "Walter". It has a nice finish, and is quite a light rod compared to others in the same line weight category. Customer Service: Haven't had to use yet (knock on wood). Similar Products Used: Orvis Silver Label, Sage RPL+.

, from Edmonton, Alberta,Canada Summary: I have had my VPS 8.5 ft 5 weight for 3 weeks now. It is a fantrastic rod. I have been fishing a couple of REALLY old rods for 25 years now so I don't have a lot to compare to. This rod is so easy to cast compared to the other that it has made my fishing a joy. I could cast and retrieve for 24 hrs straight and not even notice. I can cast about 70 ft of line with this - but who's checking :) I gets to the fish perfrectly with great soft presentation. Compared to my old rods it is very stiff - but anything would be :)
Biggest brown ever on my first time out with it. I was so great I went and bought a VPS 9' 7wt 2 weeks later.
Cost - hey in Canada eveything is expensive... 489 CAN for a "value" rod is bit much - but you get way more than you pay for with this rod. Customer Service: Haven't used it (yet.) Similar Products Used: VPS 9' 7wt, St Croix Legend Ultra (yuk), Loomis, 25 year old fiberglass custom rods (6' and 8.5')
