Mountaineer Summary: I really like this rod. It's smooth and very powerful. I can cast a mile away and I'm not scared of really pushing it. It's a bit slow so I delay forward more than with other rods I own but the action and feelings are great. Customer Service: From my limited experience with customer service it's great. They replaced, not fixed, my broken rod. Similar Products Used: While not in the same category of quality (and price) but similar size: I have a few Echo. Pretty strong rod, but w/o the GL feels!!

, from Dearborn, MI Summary: I recently purchased a 2 pc GL3 9FT 9WT for Salmon fishing. I have always wanted a Loomis Rod and A got this one with store credit received when I returned another rod that had broken while fighting a salmon. I did not intend to spend the money for a GL# at the time but I was glad I did. The rod is very light but powerful. I can turn fish much easier than with my old rod. Also, the rod was able to handle a light tippet (6 lb) easily. This was one of my biggest concerns because I was worried the rod would be too stiff to handle a light tippet. Customer Service: Not used yet Similar Products Used: St. Croix Imperial, Bass Pro Shops Conservationist

, from Durham, NC, USA Model Reviewed: G-Loomis GL3, #9, 9' Summary: This is an excellent rod for the money, and I love using it on the flats on the Yucatan. I've landed everything from small bonefish to permit to medium-sized tarpon on this rod. The action is a little slower than I like, and I prefer the GLX or the Sage XP. To the GL3's credit, the slower action is better for casting larger tarpon flies. With a decent double-haul even I can cast nearly all of the flyline to reach those distant schools. Great rod. Customer Service: Very resilient rod, haven't had to use customer service. Similar Products Used: Various G-Loomis, Sage, and Orvis rods.

, from CT Summary: Rod is very light and loads nicely, great for long casting sessions. Setup with Tioga reel a great outfit for Blues, Stripers and Salmon. Rod casts nicely but sometimes requires a little extra work than higher level models. With that said, you get what you pay for. I am looking at the 10 weight next. Customer Service: Very pleased. Have had rod two years and tip broke once, Loomis replaced no problems. Took approx. 3 weeks. Similar Products Used: Sage RPLXi
