Summary:
Sage 7136-4
I found this rod to be excellent with mid belly lines in the 7/8 or 480 grn class class. The rod is capable of handling multi tips lines such as the wincutter versa tip as well as larger flies. With the widestream acceptance and developement of "skagit" lines this rod also accels as a big tip and fly tosser. It will fish comfortably to 85-90 with a 15' section of t14 and a large weighted fly. The rod is very limber, ie, noodlish but don't let that fool you the rod is capable of landing fish into the upper teens. I know of one fish in excess of 20 pounds landed on this rod.

This rod really excels as a dry line rod. I find the rod fun too cast and the swing weight is very comfortable. Less is more with this rod.

Reviewed by: Jacob Ott ,  50+ days a year , from N. Tonawanda Ny

Summary:
Excellent rod for the smaller fish and waters of the great lakes steelhead fishery, could be a little faster in tip section to lift sink tips and straighten out a sinking leader, works great with the SA 8wt spey line, and with smaller flies. Great rod for 1st time steelheader, very forgiving of mistakes fighting fish, can handle dead drifting small nymphs and eggs well, easy line control for beginners.

For the proper purpose the 7136-4 is great. I would prefer that it was a little faster, a little crisper and snappier in the action department.
