Day Hiker Summary: I've owned many brands of wading boots, and must say these are the best i've owned. Between guiding, and fishing my chotas never get a chance to dry, even in the winter months.
I average about 250 hours on each pair of studs. When they need replaced, I simply screw the old ones out, and screw new in.
I strongly recommend them. Similar Products Used: Simms, Orvis, and Hodgeman

Day Hiker Summary: I fish about 50 day a year. I was first attracted to the chota SLT's because of there appearance. Well, let me say that what glitters is not always gold! These boots are garbage! The second day I used them the laces broke. Also, they say ,in their product promo, that they have great ankle support. Yeah right! my grannie's slippers have better. Chota! go back to the drawing board or start telling the truth to your costumers. I will tell my fellow flyfishers about Chota's SLT's misleading promo statements. Customer Service: Cabela's, always exellent service! Similar Products Used: LL bean river treads, sims,

Day Hiker Summary: I bought a pair of River Tread Wading Boots from LL Bean. These boots give knew meaning to falling apart. The sole has started to seperate and the rivits for the lacing system are poping out. I know that LL bean has a life time backing for their products; however, I do not want to spend valuable fishing time waiting for my return. Back to the drawing table with these ones guys!! Customer Service: why bother, waste time Similar Products Used: Chota, Simms

Day Hiker Summary: These shoes are utter junk -- DO NOT BUY!!!
I've had these shoes for 2 weeks (4 outings) and they are falling apart already.
Issue #1:
- The laces have already rotted out on the left boot. The rubber bands inside the lace are now exposed.
Issue #2:
- Absolutely no ankle support. This is a serious issue when walking along road back to car -- as I twisted ankle twice in the past four days.
Issue #3:
- Cleats (metal screws) on bottom of boots stick out too far. This causes you to slide when wading on moss covered slate rocks (common with freestone streams).
Issue #4:
- Boots are made in China -- which should have been a major warning already. It will be a matter of weeks before the sole falls off -- as it has already started to split. Remember -- this is after less than 2 weeks fishing.
Bottom line -- for a $125 pair of boots - these are pure junk. I'll go and grab a pair of LLBean or Weinbrenner boots.
