Hodgman Bantam Weight Boots Review

Hodgman Bantam Weight

Description
Our popular Bantam Weight wading shoes have become best sellers for good reason. These shoes are incredibly comfortable and light in weight (less than 2 1/2 lbs.). They also feature a super light molded polyurethane midsole.

Summary:
My experience with these boots has been great. I have had a pair for over two years. In that time they have made probably 150 fishing trips. I have not experienced the failures that others have posted in their reviews.

Customer Service:
Never needed it.

Summary:
I had these boots for about 2 years and used them maybe 20 times. Yesterday, in one benign trip both boots completely fell apart. The entire sole of one came 95% off and the other lost its felt sole completely. I discovered that these boots are nothing but synthetic leather and glue. Unless you only plan to fish 3-4 times a year, go with something that actually has stitching on the sole to hold it on. These boots are light, but at what cost...?

Summary:
Unless you want the extreme light weight, you will be much better off with the new Hodgman Wadelites which are based on the Danner River Gripper design using similar materials. If all you do is easy wading and you get a deal on a new pair like I did, then this is a decent boot. Just don't expect these boots to perform and last like Danner River Grippers or Hodgman's much better Wadelite model. All superlight wading boots seem to wear out much faster than premium models like Danners. Not for really serious flyfishers, unless you intend to replace frequently.

Customer Service:
Never used, but I hear Hodgman is good.

Summary:
Inexpensive boot, but I think you're better off saving your coins for an extra month and buying a more sturdy boot. Soles delaminated and boot broke down far too quickly. Okay boot to get into the sport to not too much $$$, but plan on replacing them often. My advice, buy a pair of Chota STL.
