Patagonia Chameleon Jacket Jackets Review

Patagonia Chameleon Jacket

Description
As the name implies, this handsome, reversible, waist-length jacket was designed to meet the needs of anglers who fish in variable weather and want to take along only one outerwear piece. Wear it shell side out when you need protection from rain and spray.

Summary:
An extremely versatile jacket. I wear it all the time, and it's become my favorite piece, especially for around town. There's just the right amount of insulation to keep you warm without being bulky or hot when you walk inside a building. The windproof exterior means that wind chill is not a factor, and all the pockets are great. The jacket is so cozy and has such a relaxed fit, especially around the collar, but if it's real windy, the wind cannot get into the neck, wrists, or under the hem. It's too bad Patagonia doesn't make this any more, it's really a great jacket.

The reversible feature is nice, and gives you extra pockets, but, honestly, I never wear the fleece side out. Apparently this was made for anglers as something that would stop the wind, have a warm lining, and not be too heavy, and it does just that, whether you fish or not.

GREAT JACKET! Worth every penny, especially with Patagonia's lifetime guarantee.

Customer Service:
Patagonia has the best customer service I've ever encountered. I haven't needed it for this jacket, but I've used it for other items, and they're simply the best. Kudos to US Outdoor store in Portland, OR, too. They rock!

I've got a lot of Patagonia pieces, and it's great stuff. All the big players offer a windbreaker with a minimal liner, such as the Marmot Windshirt, and this jacket goes one step further with more warmth and features.

Summary:
It's always a toss up between this jacket and the puffball pullover when I'm standing around the campfire after a long day on the river. A well built, all around jacket that makes up part of my daily wardrobe, and finds it's way out into the field with me all the time
