Patagonia Essenshell Jacket Jackets Review

Patagonia Essenshell Jacket

Description
Combines the protective features of an alpine jacket with the lightweight versatility of a windbreaker. The Essenshell provides excellent warmth and moisture-wicking protection. And the self-drying EncapSil™ fabric keeps you comfortable when you're coming off the river and snow turns to rain.

Summary:
I purchased this jacket in the spring of 2000. The Essenshell has performed well on many fourteener climbs, ski tours (10th Mountain hut-to-hut system in Colorado), backpacking trips, mountain bike rides and day hikes. I like the versatility and light weight of this shell, but it is too light for wet weather or winter.
