BARE Blackwater Breathables Waders Review

BARE Blackwater Breathables

Description
The outer layer of the 3-ply micro extreme fabric offers extraordinary cut and abrasion resistance. The breathable membrane is protected on the interior with a durable tricot lining. Puncture resistance to thorns is enhanced through the addition of a double layered leg below the articulated knee.

Summary:
I have had my Blackwater waders for about 3 years now. There are some really good things about these, but I don't think that I would buy them again. These waders aren't like your typical waders but look more like actual pants with a cuff of material that rests around your ankles. This material extends from the knees down and while this makes the waders more durable, the loose cuff traps water in the fast current. In addition, when you get out of the river, water gets trapped under the cuff and you end up pulling out half the river with you.
While the material itself was very durable, I had some problems with leaks at the seams. In addition, the neoprene socks started to leak at the heels.
