Orvis Super Strong Knotless Leader Leaders and Tippet Review

Orvis Super Strong Knotless Leader

Description
Orvis Super Strong Knotless leaders are bullet proof yet very supple. Exclusive Orvis tapers make some the best casting tapers you can find. Constructed from a single strand of mono, the heavy butt design helps them turnover the heaviest flies, yet still land softly as a feather.

Summary:
This review is actually for the Orvis Braided leaders. These things are amazing. By far the most supple leaders on the market. While it is true that they market it as an easier way to change tippets by having a loop to loop tippet to leader connection, I do not see this as the main selling point. I have stopped buying the braided tippets (at $10 for 4) in favor of tying regular tippet with a boylan knot to accomplish the same loop to loop feature. Another great thing about these things is that they have a good amount of shock absorbing stretch while still not being super stretchy. This has saved a couple of 20 inchers from breaking me off at the last minute when they decide they haven't quite had enough.

Customer Service:
Never had to use it but the guys at the store are super friendly and helpful. After accidentaly running into one of the guys from the shop on the river, he recognized me and followed up on how I was liking the rod I had bought there a few weeks back. It was a good feeling to not be treated as just another sale.

Reviewed by: Anonymous User ,  50+ days a year , from Jackson, WY, USA

Summary:
This is a great leader for the money. I used to think that people only bought Orvis stuff because they were too lazy to tie their own knots (you'd be surprised how many people that's true for). . . but this is a good product from them. I'd buy these leaders again.

Customer Service:
Not sure why I would need it for a leader, but some of the people in the store seemed helpful if that matters.
