Car Camper Summary:
Own several Abel Super Series and found them to be reliable workhorses. The drag is the smoothest of any fly reel I have used, it both stops large fish and protects fine tippets, and I bought my first Abel because of the drag system. Never had a problem with them, but as with any fine reel, a little maintenance once or twice a year helps. Each reel takes 15 minutes to service. Customer Service:
Excellent. Broke the handle of my Super 10 due to dropping it in the parking lot-- Abel sent one out the next day. Took the reels to Scotland to fish, called Abel for some extra lock nuts in case I lost one -- got a four in the mail two days later. Didn't realize until a year later that Abel normally charge for these parts. Similar Products Used:

Skier Summary:
abel super 4 reel is built good,and tight
but is to much trouble to chamge spools the cap on the end of the draw bar will come loose so since abel does not dive you a bottle of locktite be sure and buy some and also tools and a magnet to hold the parts when changing spools. a reel in this price range should be near perfect. take care of these problems and you got a great reel. called to talk to them about end cap and draw bar. hard to get on refused to send me parts said it might not be covered. when ask about prices to replace they were as the reel HIGH PRICED. the person I talked to said it would not have left the factory that way since I have not used it yet I guess he was calling me a liar. TIbor , Penn, Billy Pate , Tibor and Billy Pate gret reels too ,but Abel super gets them on Looks and performance in my opinion
