Description These fast, super light, large arbor fly reels are also the most visually stunning
on the water today. The extra large diameter arbor increases the rate of line
recovery and with such a fast retrieve it's easy to maintain a tight line over a
hooked fish - even one that runs toward the boat. The drag system features up
to 20% more surface area than ordinary fly reels. 150 yd 20 lb.Dacron capacity w WF6F SWT

Summary: The Fin Nor FR series of reel, including 8 reels in four sizes, are among the finest salt water fly reels ever made. They are also becoming quite rare. I have each of the 8 models of this series, the FR-6, FR-8, FR-10, and FR-12 in both direct drive and anti-reverse models. All are fine reels and while they now sit on display back when I used (some of) them I never had an problem with the reels. The reason they are now well cleaned and on display is because they have become very collectable. Visually stunning and engineering works of art; no Fin Nor collection is complete without at least one example of these outstanding reels. Less than 1,000 of these reels were produced, most at the companies facilities in south Florida. However one of the models (FR-8dd) was produced in Willmington, North Carolina. With 13 of these reels having been made it is the rarest Fin Nor reel ever produced.
Customer Service: No customer service is available for these reels. The company and brand name changed hands several times before the current owner revived the Marque. Production was moved out of the United States and no more fly reels have been produced. There are still a few repair shops that have parts to take care of these reels but they are few and hard to find. These reels have become part of the providence of collectors.

Summary: Best reel I have ever owned! Outstanding performance, pretty costly, but well worth the money!
Similar Products Used: Reels that are very comparable (The most popular ones out there) don't match the Fish-Nor FR.

Summary: Overall a good reel. Not quite what the older Fin Nors were but what is today. Bearings on the FR (and CR) models need to be kept VERY clean or grit/dirt and rust collects.
