Summary:
An amazing quality and value for a small price. Have used it for bones in the Seychelles, striped bass and blues in the Atlantic, and trust it for almost anything--but haven't tried it on tarpon.

Interior parts need a bit of lube or they'll get surface rust, but otherwise amazingly maintainence free, just rinse in fresh water and they keep going.

As trouble free as my Orvis and Hardy reels, and just as useful for the salt.

Customer Service:
None needed; takes a lickin' and.... So inexpensive you can keep a spare or two on hand as well.

Summary:
Awesome,I have an 8/9 system 2 , I have caught bones, small tarpon, cudas, 20+pound Atlantic salmon, 16 pound King fish and thousands of snook, without one glitch. The reel keeps going strong and is tuff as hell, the drag is like new after 8 years. I do take good care of my reel.

Customer Service:
Very good I hear, I haven't needed them after 8 years of hard use!

Summary:
I own three System2's, a 4/5L, 8/9 and a 10/11. They've been dropped on rocks, dumped in the surf, left outside in rain storms, rarely cleaned (even waiting a few days after a trip to the ocean to rinse them off) and they still perform well. They can handle the abuse of an owner like myself without being baby'd. The bigger ones still can handle blues, strippers and the odd bonito or two. I've owned Abel and Loop reels and can honestly tell you that the differences are marginal and certainly don't justify the astronomical prices of some reels. If someone wants to make the argument about machined or dye cast construction (which the SA 2's are) as being better, aluminum is aluminum. SA reels may not be the prettiest, but thet get the job done.

Summary:
Overall a sturdy, straight forward design with generous line capacity. Good value for handling saltwater fish short of the really big boys. Consider it one of my best buys.
