Skier Summary:
OK for a basic reel, but not the type I'll be handing down to my kids. Functional, but loud and kind of wobbly - just doesn't feel as nice and smooth as other entry-level $100 reels. Not sure it's any better than a basic $40 or $50 off-brand cast aluminum reel. I've fished with it for a few years now and plan to buy a "real reel" as a upgrade my 5wt rod. Similar Products Used:
I also have a G Loomis Venture reel that's same price point and has a MUCH nicer look and feel, smoother (and stronger) drag system. At $100,the Venture is probably one of the best values out there.

The real I have is a newer style. It is for an eight weight. It isn't large arbor but I haven't had any fish run at me fast enough to spit out the hook. Customer Service:

I purchased this reel in 98 and it has functioned pretty well. The vast majority of the fishing I do is for trout and the drag has always performeed adequately. The reel has never completely failed me but has annoyed me at times. Customer Service:
