This pack was purchased used. I found it to be a solid, simple, and durable pack. Carried on a week-long trip. I liked the comfort--it was easy to get on, and shoulder and waistband were adjustable and fit well (I'm 5'8"/190). Take the time to pre-fit properly before starting. It's not very large, so choose your gear carefully. On the positive side, the Explorer has plenty of places to attach external gear with straps above and below--like your sleeping bag, mat, and tent. Tiny and useless 1/2"x8" straps on the back of the waistband remain a mystery. Just buy extra straps and this pack will be a consistently good performer.
