this was my first pack. i updated to a north face prism for 2 reasons;1 is uncomfortable!!!the frame supports scalped my shoulder blades.2 is size it is really small.otherwise it is a decent pack for the money.i used it for weekenders at scout camping trips at various places and terrains.

i bought this pack for my 8yo son to go on short overnighters and 2-3, 3-4 dayer a year. the pack is easy for him to load and get to his things due to the frt flal loading . the pack seems comfy but was a little hard to adjust our first tripbut over all a good youngstera pack would also work well as a 2 dayer for a small framed adult

I bought this pack for my daughter about two years ago (when she was 11 yrs. old) and think its a GREAT starter pack! The frame is very high quality and the fit and method of adjustment are excellent. I think this pack fits small, slender children better than large kids.
For the price, the pack lacks some features that should be included. It does not have a sternum strap and no packbag compression straps. (these are very important to take the strain off of the zippers of a panel loading pack)
I added a sternum strap and made my own compression straps that attach to the frame with nickle snaps and velcro, and use Fastex buckles for adjustment. I sewed nylon loops onto the packbag to hold the compression straps in place. With these inexpensive improvements, the pack is more comfortable and the zippers will last longer.
My daughter loves her pack and has used it on several backpacking trips.

This is a great product for the weekend expeditionist. It doesn't cost a lot. What can you ask? It does a good job of holding my stuff for me when I am walking. That's nice. Its comfortable too. Yes. This is one fine backpack.
