This bag does not appear on Coleman's GearFinder webpage, but appears to be exactly the same (except for color) as their Ontario model which does appear on the manufacturer site. Although I got mine on a huge sale (see my other review of same product), this time I have listed the retail price. Don't know if it is still being sold at retail--hope you got yours on sale! Value rating on this review is for retail price. Customer Service:
I emailed Coleman to ask about whether Katmai and Ontario were same and for info about Coletherm...three weeks ago. My request has gone unanswered. Ordinarily Coleman's customer service is very good..

At 33% off of clearance price, with additional discounts, this was admittedly a can't-miss purchase. I had been deliberating paying retail for a Slumberjack Aurora 15, and had assumed I had "settled" based on price. I had thought I had wanted the mummy bag for the space/weight savings, and the better-known Hollofil filling. However, I was pleasantly surprised on my 8-day campout at 9200 feet in AZ White Mountains. Although temps only dipped into '40's in evenings, I was very comfortable in the Katmai. The bag stuffs into its sack very compactly--bulk and weight not significantly greater than "backpacking" bags, and the roominess of the rectangular foot was great. Cotton flannel lining much cozier than nylon/poly. Toggled drawstrings around mummy-style hood and neck draft-tube worked smoothly and efficiently, and that from a guy who has gotten claustrophobic fighting out of my old (back when I had discretionary $$$ to blow) North Face mummy. Foot of bag got a bit damp during seasonal monsoons, but Coletherm (Coleman's proprietary synthetic hollow-fiber filling) stayed lofty/warm and bag dried quickly when I aired it out next day. Summary: a cut well above traditional "camp" bags, great warmth-per-weight, value, features, construction; would work for backpacking for all but most discriminating, in probably 95% of outdoor applications. Should enhance Coleman's solid reputation. Similar Products Used:
