This stove is awesome. i was turned on to optimus products when i bought a used 111 hiker in college. the 111 was heavy, but the nova is a perfect blend of performance and weight. high output for melting snow AND simmer control so the pasta doesnt boil over!!! It's a great time to be alive!

Only used on a few week long trips, but it's been really reliable. We were caribou hunting on the north slope in AK in April and forgot that the burner on the two burner coleman wouldn't vaporize the liquid fuel without preheating. Temps were around -10F. Pulled out the backup NOVA and it fired right up after the priming. Sturdy stove, field serviceable, and keeps the pot on the stove. Quieter than the dragon but still can simmer. I did a lot of pre-purchase research and I think I made a good decision.

Customer Service

they mailed me a new metal plate thingy that I lost. Charged me $12, but $7 of that was shipping to AK.

Far and away the best stove I have every used, by that meaning this thing is bombproof. Close to two years of use in the harshest environments Afganistan and Pakistan have to offer, Iraq, and the Alps and this thing keeps kicking with hardly any maintainance. Burns anything, alcohol, kerosene, diesel, gas, with equal performance. I cant rave enough about it. Everyday usage for years in such harsh environments will trash almost any peiece of equipment but somehow they got it right this time around. Only wish is that the fuel bottle was bigger, but it can be used with Sigg or MSR bottles.

An absolutely incredible stove. Lights every time, easily, with no fuss. Has great simmer control (i've even used it to cook normal meals at home just to mess around. it was just as easy to cook with as my normal gas stove, with the same amount of simmer control.) The fuel bottle included is great, all aluminum, even the pump. also has a great feature where to turn it off you simply flip the bottle over and it stops pulling fuel from the bottle, burns off all the fuel in the fuel lines, and then depressurizes the tank. awesome. pump also has a built in fuel filter. Very easy to clean and maintain in the field. you can completely disassemble and clean with the removal of one nut, which the included multi-tool unscrews. The multi-tool is top notch. to clean the output valve, you just run the multi-tool back and forth under the stove and a magnet pushes a built in needle that cleans the jet out. how cool is that? HOW COOL? also runs on any flammable liquid petroleum product with ease. best stove out there. well worth the money.
