Summary:
I have had my Feather 400 stove for well over 20 years now and use it regularly. Never an issue. I bought the service kit for it when I bought the stove. I still carry it with me every trip but have never needed it. Yes it is heavy, but is most certainly IS a backpacking stove. I carry it on every trip, some as long as 14 days. The weight is made up for in terms of durability and reliability. I can't count how many times my friends have been let don by their whisper lites and other "backpacking stoves"

Summary:
Since I'm a Boyscout with Troop 260, I picked up this little slice of heaven from an outdoor store called Andy and Backs Outdoor Adventure in Portland Oregon for $20.00 used. Even though it was used it was in great condition and still works like new. It is a tiny bit bulky, but how good it works makes up for it! I would recommend this for anyone that is just starting camping or is already an avid camper, and is also recommended for new Scouts and cold weather camping but make sure you have preheating paste!

Nothing needed!

Summary:
This is my second portable white gas stove after I bought my first one up North (a Coleman Sportster 508 w/ case) about 7 years ago. While 508 has given me a bit of trouble over the years (leaky checkvalve inside the air pump bore, bad mating surface on the valve-generator mating surface causing leaks, etc.) since then I have replaced all the faulty parts and it works fine.

The reason why I bought another white gas stove is that it fits my backpack side pocket w/ ease. While both 508 and Feather series both share the same common flow control valve, for some reason my featherweight stove seems to adjust to simmer very well (better than my 508). It has served me well for the last 2 years and it hasn't failed me so far. Love it!

Unless weight is the ultimate concern(I sometimes do high-altitude hikings) which I then switch to using Peak1 propane stove/Primus Yellowstone litetrail propane stove w/ Isobutane cans, otherwise white gas is the only way to go for it's economical and very efficient.

This is a great stove. I've had mine now for about 10 years and it's worked great.
