This is the creme-de-la-creme of cool ski packs. it has everything you need for a fine day in the bc: kit pouch, probe pouch, excellent shovel holder, unbeatable ski attachments, side-zip, etc., etc. if youre looking for all this cool stuff, buy this pack!! however, ive found this pack to be a bit overkill for oneday bc adventures--sure all those knick-knacks are neat, but sometimes unnecesary. for my style, the pack is too big for oneday skiing, and a tad too big for cragging. oh yeah, this pack is definately overkill for cragging--too much stuff. if i were to do it again (which im gonna have to--i just had my Borea stolen while i was climbing) i would not get this pack. im getting the Stone pack from BD, and am not sure what ski pack to get. the other con is the weight and price--the weight comes from all the features, and the price, well, its a great pack, and its made to last a lifetime, so suck it up and fork over the cash. the bottom line: if looking for a pack with great features, buy this pack immediately; if looking for a streamlined, lightweight pack, get something else. hope this helps!

no doubt the best pack/ski pack on the market. holds everything you need in the backcountry. the best part is you can cut it down and loose weight to go alpine light. i have taken it ice climbing and backcountry skiing and have not found anything better.

A Great Ski pack, All the bells and whistles and some weight but they offer real function. The pack carries a big load well and you have to love that shovel pocket. I primarally use the pack for backcounrty skiing. Lots of room for any adventure!

The borea is by far the best ski pack I have ever used. The suspension is plush - it's easy to forget you got 40 or 50 pounds on your back with this beauty. Talk about tough I used it over 130 days last year toting around boots, skis, avi gear, lunch and whatever else if it can survive a year in the life of a liftee... it's tough. maybe the only downfall of this pack is it's pretty heavy but hey if you ask me it's worth it. other notable points great foamy shorty for sitting on, feels like its glued to your back when you move, super easy ski attachment system.

A really superb pack. I've had a Bora 30 for a few years, bought the Borea for skiing and to have a larger day pack. Exceptionally well-made, and the features are well-conceived. Numerous pockets are great for skiing, but also good for day hikes when you need a place to keep keys and wallet without worrying about them falling out when you're digging around for the extra layer. Side-zip access makes it easy to get that gore-tex jacket buried in the bottom of the pack.

Arc'Teryx products are exquisite, the Borea typifies this claim. Here is a ski specific pack designed with the backcounty skier in mind. I'm into my second season with the pack and have done a bit of day touring and some hut to hut stuff (light overnight) with the pack pretty well maxed out (read loaded), It carries well at the 35+lbs range though anymore does start to stress the intended range of the straps and hip padding. One needn't be concerned about the quality as it is clearly first rate, and the ski specific attention to detail is enough to warm the heart of any""tech weenie""/""gear head"" (such as myself...) included are quick release ski carriers, a pit pocket, 2 ice axe loops, a probe pocket/sleave, an easy to reach snow shovel pocket with an adjacent foam snow pad/seat that stashes away but is easy to get to... Enough said! The main question is do you really need a ski specific pack? if so, look no further, you will nothing else that comes even close. I'm planning to use it for winter climbing forays as a summit pack as well.
