I recently bought one of these Hogan of a tent from Ebay! What a great tent yes it is heavy but the Vestibule is amazing and I can see this tent is not going to move, well built.
Tent was tricky at first to set up (no instructions) but it was easy second time te fly is a no brainier. Two person tent it is not I am 6'3" 300 lbs and this is a big one person.

Customer Service

Over 15 years old or discontinued tents don't seem to be cared about with EMS, the tent was not loved from previous owner (rain fly had Mildew).
I was on my own to salvage the poor thing.

I don't think its still on the market, but I bought this tent close to 15 years ago. I've taken it car camping, backpacking, kayaking in all four seasons. At 8 lbs its not great for backpacking but it has stood up to everything mother nature could throw at me and I've have a comfortable blast sleeping in it everytime. I only use it now for car camping and water camping, when weight isn't an issue. The two vestibules are a luxery rarely found in a tent of this size and price.

Customer Service

Great customer service at EMS. I wish they would move down to my new home state of Virginia.

Great tent, great value. I got this tent for like $200. A four-season tent that is breathable enough for the hottest weather. I got it in early July, and I slept in it on the 4th. It was like 105 deg. that day and the next, and we were fine in it overnight. With the two doors' nets up, and the top vent open, no bugs could get to us, but every breeze could. Set up is simple enough to do in the pitch dark.

Customer Service

EMS was eager to help with any questions I had, but as of yet, I haven't had a problem that I needed them for. They do have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, period.

As other reviews have said, this tent seems ""bomb-proof"". Holds well in heavy rain-storms and gusting winds. Ventilation is good. Assembly is pretty quick, using 4 poles and optional 5th pole for vestibule. Recommend for anyone looking for a good 3.5 season or light 4 season tent.

Customer Service

The EMS staff at the two stores I go to (Manchester and West Hartford, CT) are very courteous and knowledgeable.

Great for three seasons, all though it's not that bad in the winter w/ a warm bag. Easy to pack for a backcountry journey and wastes no time being put up. I started w/ the forester and saw the pampero about a year later and now love using it. I am kind of tall at 6'2" , so of course the only tents i pretty much stand straight up is in a larger tent. But for a 2 man it suits me great. Overall out of 5 points i would have to rate it at a 4.6. Great tent to invest in!

Customer Service

I have bought 2 tents from EMS and both times i have been there to purchase the tents, the employee would bring the tents right out in to the middle of the mall and put it up for me and show me it set up. great service from a great store!

Eureka is the other brand i have used and to be honest i don't think the Eureka compares to EMS. I have a eureka outlet in my home town area and contrasting from one another shows me clear in favor of EMS!

Excellent tent for the money. The setup is extremely logical and easy. The tent has great ventilation. The vestibule is real nice for gear. The tent is a bit smaller than other comparable 2 person tents, but definitely not cramped.

Customer Service

Friendly and efficient.

I've had this tent for two years now and it has not let me down yet. I've used this backpacking, hiking, and sleeping out in the backyard. This tent works everywhere!! The construction is great, and the vestibule is big enought to store all you gear to make more room for you inside. Its perfect for backpacking especially because of its small size and the features it offers. The rainfly is great and provides excellent coverage, while the floor is all so very duarable. This is a great tent

This tent does it all. From winter to summer this tent will keep you warm and dry. It is very roomy for a two person tent and setup is a snap. EMS makes only the highest quality gear and this tent is a clear example.

This tent has just withstood a week out in subzero temperatures, a foot of snow, and a quarter inch od sleet and freezing rain. It has held up perfectly, and performed just as I thought it would when I first saw it's tremendously strong design. It would be a bit crapmed I think with 2 people though, but doable.

This tent is very well made for the price.
Weight to space ratio good. I think the rainfly
material is top rate, but not as heavy as other
brands. Also like the way the back door of the fly
can convert, as well as the detachable vestibule.

Customer Service

The folks at EMS took lots of time telling me why
and how this tent was made. They mailed it for me
from the store since I was traveling, and had ne room to carry it with me.
