Summary:
i have owned the eureka nightscape two for four years. i love this tent. i can put this tent up in ten minutes and the rainfly in about two. the rainfly snaps to the tent and once you figure the inside rod support, its very easy. i have no trouble star gazing at night through the tent. it sleeps 2 large adults just fine, but not with a lot of gear in the tent. i have had no problems with leaking even in three days of solid douwnpour. great tent.

Summary:
I haven't had any complaints with the tent. I have been through many storms with the tent with no leaks. Setting up is actually quite quick once you do it a few times. Cleaning it is as easy and picking up the entire tent by the frame and shaking everything out. It is a bit small, but serves its purpose well. I bought it when it first came out, and it's still going strong. It also dismantles and rolls up quicker than any tent i've used. The bag it comes with is very nice and compartmentalized.

It cost an arm and a leg at the time, but it has kept me nice and dry.

Summary:
I have the Nightscape 2 model. It is too narrow for two adults as a car camping tent and much to heavy for backpacking. The fussy odd poles and strange two piece fly with hidden pole pocket are confusing...even after 4 setups. Leaks a little, but pours a lot from various places. Ventilation is excellent, although the night viewing panel with its retractable fly in the top is just a gimmick. The netting is not opaque enough to see through except in the daytime. I should have passed on this one.

Summary:
I currently own Eureka's Nightscape 4 tent and it was tested on it's first outing in Washington state's Cascade mountain range in August of 2001.

This is a decent tent and a good value for it's price. The retractible rain fly feature is very nice but setting it up is a bit "fussy". After three times, installing the rain fly was second nature.

There is a slight problem in my tent that causes water leaks when in rainy weather. The rear window and wall section forms a basin where it connects to the bathtub style floor. Even after a thorough seam sealing the semi-permiable taffeta nylon leaks water into the tent. This could be solved by creating a larger fly overhang at the rear of the tent.

I solved this flaw by making a 60x82x36 inch trapezoid of 1.9 oz coated ripstop nylon that attaches to the rear pole sections with hook and loop fasteners. This retains good ventilation and channels the rainwater where it belongs. On the ground.

All in all I would recommend this tent for fair weather camping as the construction is very good with detailed stitching and factory sealed floor seams. D-ring tie outs are provided to secure the tent in high winds.
