I have used the Cave on about 5 trips now. It is light and has a lot of room. It is a little different sleeping in a tarp than a tent. It takes a little experience to set it up but after a few times it goes up pretty quickly even if you are doing it yourself. I had bought a BD Betamid which I really liked and the setup was a breeze but I felt that the Cave gave me more room (no poles in the middle) and was lighter to boot. My biggest problem is that there is a lot of rope around the tarp which people sometimes trip over so I have replaced the black rope (which you cannot see at all in the night) with reflective Kelty Triptease rope. So far I have always stayed dry during downpours. No animals have come to visit me. It is easy to get up in the middle of the night to answer nature''s call. I have cooked under it in the rain, and it doesn''t flap in the wind if you pitch it tight. I also bought the Nest which is a netting that fits inside the Cave to ward off bugs. I figured it was the only way I was going to get my daughters to camp w/ me in a tarp instead of a tent, but I haven''t had a chance to use it yet. As far as I''m concerned, I''m no longer packing w/ a tent. As far as price is concerned I asked my wife to make me a tarp but she didn''t have the time so I bought this. A little pricey considering it is just pieces of snilyon sewed together but the workmanship is first-rate, the design is functional, and I beleive it is better than any comparable priced tent.
