Not as stable as the VE 25 in high wind but I wouldn't be in this tent that high in an alpine setting anyway. I use it as a solo tent for backpacking/climbing/fishing and I couldn't be happier.

Customer Service

Never had to use it.

Once set up, it works great. I was caught in a wicked storm in the middle of Nebraska and never got wet. Nice open top for the nights without rain.

I purchased this item a year ago and used it 3 times. The last time I was in a serious typhoon just below mt ugu in the Philippines. The tent never got wet in the inside. Little condensation formed because I fully guyed-out the fly and open the ventilation. The tent stands in the pretty strong wind.

Always need to open the ventilation window to provide good air circulation. I learnt it after experiencing a lot of condensation formed in the fly if the fly is completely closed.

Best tent I've ever owned. Mesh is a savior during the bug season, and generous open construction allows for those sweet summer breezes after a long day on the trail. Never had a leak, tear, or failure in the 2+ years of use. Very easy to set up and take down.
**out of production, footprint must be custom ordered from North Face - last quote I got was about $50 (yikes!).

Customer Service

With exception of steep price for custom footprint, CS has not been warranted - great product.

Best tent I have found for 1 big person (6 ft- 225 pounds) or a father and small son. Freestanding- easy to set up, love the open mesh- especially during mosquitto season. It withstood gale winds at trailcamp at Whitney-12,000 ft. At mid day, putting rain fly half over allowed ventilation and a cool nap at Guitar lake. Was perfect on 30 days of JMT- plenty of room for 1, never got wet inside. It could be 1/2 pound lighter- maybe- but, all in all, best tent I ever owned. Recommend highly.

Customer Service

I have had it 4 years- never needed it.

I have 1500 nights backpacking, and have used variety of tents- REI , Kelty, etc. This tent, once set up, has always been the envy of all other backpackers in the 1 man solo backpacker arena.

I love this tent and it is the envy of my fellow backpackers. I have used it in some serious storms and never gotten wet. It is freestanding and incredibly easy to set up, even in the pitch dark. Stake the rainfly out tightly to prevent condensation. I often don't use the fly in nice weather, the netting is great for stargazing. You have to be very friendly for this to be a 2 person tent. It is the best tent I have used for the price and I recommend its simplicity over many of the solo tent desigs. At just over 5 lbs, it could stand to be a little lighter, but it is very manageable.

I got a good deal on this tent as compared to other tents of equal technical abilities. It is very good at keeping the wet stuff out. My wife and I are the only ones who use it and it is just enought room for us. I have had a hard time finding a foot-print for it though.

I love this tent. Ive used it in prety cold weather, up on the AT.. thru snow and rain it holds out all moisture. fits 2 comfortably plus packs.. but im short, so maybe bigger folks would have problems. Very roomy, lots of ventilation.. but in winter, recommend warm bag due to all the ventialation. Light weight... great choice and good value.

***Here are the Pros*** -Easy, easy, easy to set up. -Rain proof! I have already been through half a dozen storms and no water got through. -Very sturdy. At high wind speeds this tent stands the test. -On a clear night this tent is superb for watching the stars due to its huge window. ***Here are the Cons*** -Perfect size for one person, two is quite snug. -Poor ventilation when the fly is on; it quickly becomes uncomfortabley hot on a warm summer's day.

Customer Service

Never used, don't expect to.
