I will keep it short because after reading all the reviews in here, I must agree on the versatility of this unit. Very light and easy to use. |

Great filter for the money. I've used it in some very questionable water sources in south america and never had a problem. The prefilter does a great job of keeping it clog free, and the stopper fits most nalgene bottles snug enough to let you just drop the bottle. Only problem I've had is a leaky pump valve which makes pumping even longer than usual. I don't know if it's an isolated thing or all units experience it over time, but a little duct tape seemed to do the trick. Similar Products Used: Iodine tabs, boiling |

I got this purifier for Christmas and it has been excellent, SO FAR. It is, I believe, the lightest of the PUR purifiers and also very small for the quality. I was a little concerned when only muddy water was in sight and I was thirsty but I've felt great and you can get this one for under well under $100. Only problem is that I need more hands. One to hold the PUR, one to pump, but who is going to hold the water bottle or keep me balanced. Oh well. |

I bought this filter prior to a week-long canoe trip into Giardia-infested waters. In the past, I've always used purifying tablets in combination with boiling the water prior to consumption, but how satisfying is a hot glass of water when you're completely exhausted and totally parched?! The PUR is small, light and it can fill up a 2.5 litre Camelbak in no time at all. Does it work? All I can do is let the facts speak for themselves...when a running water supply became impossible to find, I filtered and drank nasty-looking (and smelling) water from a marshy bog without feeling the slightest ill effect afterwards. I was quite concerned, without cause. The PUR carried the day without a flaw. The only problem I've encountered at all, is that the convenient water-bladder-filler-cap-thingy didn't fit my Camelbak. I haven't bought one yet, but I was concerned with consuming iodine for extended periods, as I will be in India for 6 months and depending on the filter. Customer Service I emailed PUR about my iodine concern. They responded within 2 days with the following: Similar Products Used: carrying water from camp. |

A friend has had one for about 2 years. Used around Lake Michigan, several inland lakes and streams, and while on caving trips in Indiana. Never a prob. Water tasted great. Never used in REALLY bad-looking water, but never had to. May replace filter this year, just to be safe, still works like new. Pumps a high rate of water too, so you end up pumping less. Customer Service No need for service of any kind. Similar Products Used: Opening my mouth and looking up in the rain |

GREAT product! really! even cleans away the ""grey or brown look"" in the water. I got a relatively bad injury, and while my friends were going back to the ranger station (about 18 miles) I used the PUR to filter some riverwater from a close-by stream, and it tasted great, and no midnight surprises later that day. ~Gus Similar Products Used: None |

Simple, fast, reliable, effective. I like the way the output charcoal filter fitting mates to the various Nalgene bottles. Just be smart enough to understand that coastal/tidal rivers contain salt water farther upstream than you'd think. It won't filter that, I learned the hard way. Customer Service Nice feature: Hiker and Voyageur filters are interchangeable, the Hiker not offering as comprehensive protection. Similar Products Used: First Need Deluxe |

Works very well. Easy to maintain. I filtered some very nasty looking water in an emergency once and although it tasted bad it was clean. Similar Products Used: None |

I think this is the best purifier I have ever owned. It's the lightest weighing only 11 oz, and least expensive one that I can find. It pumps fast and cleanly and it hasn’t clogged yet. The fact that it will connect to a Nalgiene bottle makes it great. This is the one to get! |
